UNITED STATES ARMY NATIONAL GUARD AND AIR FORCE RESERVE VETERAN

DAILEY, Jerry L. Beloved husband of Pastor Wanda Dailey. Devoted father of Sharon (Mike) Maul, Lisa Robbins, David (Julia) Robbins, Jeremy (Jackie Freeman) Dailey, and Jennifer Asalon. Loving grandfather of Kelly Azim, Anastasia Robbins, Stephen Dailey, Jessica Dailey, and Anthony Asalon. Great grandfather of Owen & Avery Azim. Dear brother of Gussie (Patrick) Kelley. Jerry passed away suddenly on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the age of 78 years. Jerry was born in 1938 in Cynthiana, Kentucky and graduated from Hughes High School in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1956. He served 8 years in the Army National Guard of Ohio, U.S. Army Reserve and U.S. Airforce Reserve. In 1958, at the age of 20, he joined the Cincinnati Police Department and served for 10 years. While employed with the City of Cincinnati, Jerry’s special assignments included guarding President Johnson and The Beatles. In 1968, Jerry graduated from the IRS Enforcement Law and Criminal Investigation Academy and became an IRS Criminal Investigator. Jerry and Wanda married on March 20, 1970. During the 1970’s airline hi-jackings, he was assigned the special task of flying as a Sky Marshall. In 1993, Jerry retired from the IRS. He also served on the City of Fairfield’s Planning Commission for 34 years. Fairfield City Mayor Ronald D’Epifanio declared Tuesday, April 12, 2011 “Jerry Dailey Day” in the City of Fairfield and presented him with a Key to the City. He was a member of The Grace of God Church. Jerry had a large, loving family. He spent his remaining years enjoying life with his kids and grandkids. He will be greatly missed by all. Friends may greet the family at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pk., Springdale, OH 45246 on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 11:00 AM until time of service, with military honors, at 1:00 PM.
