RENTZ, Agnes D. (nee Devalon), 93, a former resident of Mount Vernon, died Aug. 15, 2014, in Cincinnati, after a long illness. Aggie was born in Mount Vernon on Aug. 4, 1921, to Justin E. and Ida (Shutt) Devalon. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School with the class of 1939, then from the White Cross Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Agnes is survived by three sons and daughter-in-laws, John and Clarissa Rentz of Cincinnati, Steve and Diana Rentz of Whitehouse, and Fred and Kathleen Rentz of Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church on Thursday, at 11 a.m. The Reverend David Kendall-Sperry will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Capital Campaign Fund, 100 East High Street, Mount Vernon OH 43050; or a charity of your choice.
