Kathy G., beloved wife of John C. Powers for 50 years; mother of Mark C. Powers and the late Laura G. Powers; nana of Brittany and Zachary Powers, Tyler and Drew Oldfield, and Kyra Bolin; daughter of the late Floy and Luther Herron. Kathy was a graduate of Lloyd Memorial High School and the University of Kentucky College of Arts and Sciences with majors in English and History. She taught her first year at Conner Junior High School in Boone County and later at Greenhills and Forest Park High Schools. Passed away on August 18, 2014 at age 74. Visitation will take place at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pk., Springdale on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be at the Highland Cemetery chapel, 2167 Dixie Hwy., Ft. Mitchell on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 10 AM. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
