Listening to the music of the Southern Gateway Chorus we are in thoughts with the Bopp family at the memorial service to celebrate Cal's life. I feel very grateful to have met this wonderful man. I still remember the fun we shared when he taught me sailing on Lake Robinson. Every time I have been out with the boat since it has reminded me of this cheerful time with Cal and always will. Looking forward to seeing you, Gretchen, this summer! We are with you and the whole family in our thoughts and prayers!Juergen Stegbauer

My father Frank Wissel worked along with Cal at Avco and thought the world of him. I have fond memories as a child when all these guys would come over to the house for a meeting or to simply play cards. Just a great bunch of guys!

To the entire Extended Family of Cal, my favorite uncle. May God give each of you a special peace as you know Where Cal now walks and sings. I had not seen him or Gretchen for so many years but always appreciate the good times that they spent with my Dad at the lake.Timothy Bopp

I had great times with Great-Grandpa although I only saw him every two years. Especially in the evenings at the cottage when we would make popcorn and smores at the bonfire. He was always doing something either fixing the boats or going for a sail on the lake. He always had a joke and we had great times. I wish I could have seen you again before you passed away. Rest in peace.Samantha Bopp Stegbauer

Dear Great-Grandpa,I´m glad that I could meet you and play with you at the cottage. I loved helping prepare the parties for you and Great-Grandma! It was fun seeing you dance for us. I remember all the times with you, and they all were fun! Rest in peace.Saskia Stegbauer

I am sad that I missed seeing Grandpa one last time before he passed away. But I have a huge collection of memories of spending time with him and learning from him. I watched him fix things, make things, bake, sing, dance, read, do various sport activities, flirt with Grandma and be proud of his family. I'm glad that my children had a chance to know him. He was a man who always had a good idea and a positive outlook that he could solve a challenge or problem. He even visited me twice in Germany. He was a blessed man.

Dear Gretchen and Family,My condolences to the entire family. Cal was an extraordinary man with many gifts. The one that I will most remember him for is his love for his family. What a legacy his has left behind.I feel fortunate to have grown up with such wonderful neighbors at Robinson Lake. Cal along with the rest of the family has made a lasting impression on my life. Cal always had a kind word and a smile to share. I always enjoyed sitting with Cal and the family and catching up, eating popcorn, enjoying the night sky and a good campfire.I always knew when I saw the Bopp sailboat out on the lake, Cal and Gretchen were at the cottage. Thank you for sharing your husband, father, grandfather with all of us at the lake. He will be missed by all of us. May you find peace knowing how many lives he touched with his kindness and that he will always be remembered fondly. Our Deepest Sympathy,Marce Hansen & Family
