David Allen

David Pitt Allen, 84, died peacefully on Friday September 28th at Maple Knoll Village. He was the loving husband of Joan Allen (nee Avey) for 61 years, the devoted father of Dan Allen, Brad (Carmon) Allen, and Kate (Bill) Maxam and the cherished grandfather of Trey, Hannah, David, Nick, Lindsay, Ryan, and Annie. His son, Dave, preceded him in death.

David was born in Dover, OH on October 19, 1933. He studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Cincinnati and enjoyed a fulfilling career at General Electric in Evendale.  Music was his passion; playing the tuba, and singing in the choir. Serving in the church where he lived was a priority for him. He enjoyed everything airplanes, automobiles, and engines. After retiring from GE, he and Joan moved to Sunnyvale, CA for 24 years before returning to Cincinnati in 2016. Upon his return to Cincinnati, he faithfully attended the Springdale Church of the Nazarene. He will be greatly missed by many friends and relatives. Family and friends may visit Monday, October 8, 2018 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at the Springdale Church of the Nazarene, 11177 Springfield Pike, Springdale, Ohio 45246.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Springdale Church of the Nazarene or to Maple Knoll Village Hospice Center.
