CORDES, Gene Ann (nee Good). Beloved wife of the late Brandon Millikin Cordes, Sr. Devoted mother of Eugenia Cordes, Brandon (Judith) Cordes II, Carter Cordes, Walter (Paula) Cordes II, and Robert (Sandra) Cordes. Also survived by special daughters, Linda Cordes and Sherry Wiesner. Cherished daughter of late Dr. Carter V. & Irene Cooper Good. Dear sister-in-law of Carol (Edward) Hake. Loving grandmother to Anne (Brian) Wymore, Elizabeth (Daniel) Horrigan, Katherine (Ryan) Oliver, Brandon (Karla) Cordes III, Carter (Brittany) Cordes, Todd Cordes, Walter (Catherine) Cordes III, Paul (Amy) Cordes, Karen (Scott) Lotshaw, Alexander (Jessica) Cordes and Marie Cordes. Proud great grandmother of Rose, Clara & Samuel Horrigan; Sydney, Evan & Kendall Oliver; Ava & William Cordes; Allison, Emily, Virginia & Grace Cordes; Victoria & Erin Derry and Isabella Cordes; Charles & Cooper Lotshaw; Nathan Ragle and Noah & Jonathan Cordes.
Gene Ann was a graduate of Teachers College at University of Cincinnati and was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. She taught first grade and kindergarten in the Cincinnati Public School System. She was a member of Presbyterian Church of Wyoming, where she had taught Sunday school in primary grades. Gene Ann had both local and state affiliations with several patriotic lineage societies including; Chapter Regent of Cincinnati Chapter DAR, Daughters of American Colonists, and General William Henry Harrison Chapter Daughters of 1812. She served as a director of the Cincinnati Woman's Club and was a former board member of the Wyoming Historical Society. She was also involved with the Hamilton County Chapter Ohio Genealogical Society, First Families of Ohio.
Gene Ann passed away peacefully on Friday, February 16, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pk., Springdale, OH 45246 on Saturday, February 24, 2018 from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Maple Knoll Communities; Future Care Fund, 11100 Springfield Pk., Springdale OH 45246.
