  • Anna Mary Wolf Harlan of Maple Knoll Village, Cincinnati, passed away peacefully at the age of 102. A woman of industry, faith, and devotion to family, Anna lived a life defined by her Indiana farm roots, her loving spirit and kind words.

  • Born in Atwood, Indiana to Merle and Elizabeth Wolf, Anna worked her family's farm before pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Home Economics. To fund her degree, she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII, exceeding production quotas to pay back her college debt - a testament to the work ethic she carried throughout her life.

  • Anna married Warren H. Harlan on April 26, 1946. After moving to Cincinnati in 1947 for Warren’s career at Procter & Gamble, they raised five children in Greenhills and Forest Park, Ohio. A former Home Economics teacher, Anna was a master seamstress and knitter, creating hundreds of American Girl doll outfits and cherished wedding afghans that remain in use decades later.

  • Never one to sit idle, Anna managed three rental properties she bought and renovated herself. Her adventurous heart led her to all 50 states and three continents, where she saw the Egyptian pyramids, walked on Alaskan glaciers and climbed Mount Sinai. A dedicated member of Greenhills Community Church, Presbyterian since 1951, she served as a Deacon, Trustee, and a member of the Prayer Shawl ministry. Anna was predeceased by her husband, Warren; her siblings, Juanita and James; and her parents.

  • She is survived by her five children: Dawn High, Mark (Christine) Harlan, Dale (Helen) Harlan, Carla (Mark) Hutker, and Wade (Helen) Harlan; 10 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
