With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well lived, we remember and celebrate the remarkable journey of Bill R. Guy, who left this world on July 13, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on May 17, 1936, in Ewing, Kentucky, Bill lived each day as an adventure, his life marked by deep devotion to family, steadfast faith, and a joyful embrace of the world around him.
Bill was a man of uncommon warmth and generosity, whose welcoming spirit touched countless lives. To his loved ones, he was a cherished husband, beloved father, devoted grandfather and great-grandfather, and a true friend. Surviving him are his dear children: Michael S. (Colleen) Guy, Steven C. (Kathleen) Guy, Christine Bleisch, and Bill (Barb) Snapp. Bill’s legacy lives brightly in his grandchildren—Henry, Sam, Paige, Walker, Nicholle, Jason, Kelsey, Kyle, and Kaitlin—as well as his great-grandchildren, with whom he shared endless laughter and unforgettable memories. The circle of those who loved him extends further still, including his treasured nieces and nephews.
Preceding Bill in death is his beloved wife, Marty Snapp Guy, whose memory he kept close to his heart.
As the founder and well-loved owner of American Metal Supply, Bill’s career was a testament to his fierce work ethic and magnetic personality. His colleagues and friends would agree: Bill was the greatest salesman, leaving lasting impressions with every handshake and conversation. He was deeply proud to be a "Son of Norwood," always devoted to the community and ever-present in its life.
Family meant everything to Bill. He rejoiced in fatherhood and treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren, coaching his sons in soccer and basketball during their youth and nurturing a generational tradition of memorable family trips. Whether he was visiting Disney world or fly fishing out west, Bill loved experiencing these places with his family and friends. An avid outdoorsman, and adept fly fisherman, Bill found immense happiness which led him to travel all around the world. Each cast of the line in Wyoming and every story told beneath the open sky were threads in the rich tapestry of a family bound by love and shared adventure.
Bill filled every room with conversation and kindness. He loved to talk—whether it was telling stories, offering advice, or simply spreading God's word. Always welcoming, his generosity knew no bounds, and he delighted in the company and success of those around him. While he often joked about not believing in exercise, he was a man who never stood still when it came to superior work ethic, loving his family, or serving his community.
A man of devout faith, Bill drew much strength and joy from reading the Bible and participating in bible studies. His long membership at Springdale Nazarene Church was an anchor in his life, inspiring his strong values and gentle spirit.
The legacy Bill leaves is woven from countless precious memories: laughter on Disney World rides, quiet moments fishing in Wyoming, coaching on the sidelines, sharing stories over dinner, and faith that lit his way. His love for his family and community, his unwavering kindness, and zest for life, will echo from the mountains which he loved so much and forever be a part of the lives he touched for generations to come.
Loved dearly and missed deeply, Bill R. Guy’s adventurous and generous spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
