Charles Gioia

Feb 17, 1929 — Jul 27, 2026

Charles Gioia, from College Point, New York, spent his life immersed in the vibrant tapestry of New York City. His career as a supervisor for the New York Transit Authority was not just a professional pursuit but a serendipitous journey, for it was here he met Olda, the love of his life, whom he adored everyday. Together, they shared over 70 cherished years, building a family rooted in love and shared memories.

A devoted father, Charles's legacy continues through his beloved children, Angela and Anthony. As a grandfather, his pride only grew, with Michele (Craig) Muhlenkamp and Christopher (Emily) Badalaty; and his heart swelled as a great-grandfather to Brandt, Isabella, Molly, and Madison.

In his later years, Charles moved to Ohio, living first with his daughter and then at Story Point, where he was known for his generosity and warmth. His ability to forge meaningful friendships enriched his life and those around him.

Charles was a lover of nature, thriving in the outdoors through fishing, hunting, swimming, and camping. His zest for life also found expression in lively tennis matches shared with friends and family. A passionate sports enthusiast, Charles spent countless afternoons cheering for the New York Yankees, and upon moving to Ohio, embraced the Cincinnati Bengals with equal fervor.

Beloved by many, Charles was a man whose kindness left an indelible mark on all who knew him. His greatest legacy remains his family, an enduring testament to the love he and Olda shared—a love now rejoined in eternity. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren each carry a fragment of his heart, ensuring the memory of his love remains vibrant through the generations.
