Chester R. Cavaliere "Chet" passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the age of 96. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary L. Cavaliere "Joy". He is survived by his daughter Jeanne Plunkett and son-in-law Mike Plunkett of West Chester, Ohio; his granddaughter, Jessica Walther and her husband Michael formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, currently living in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Chet and Joy moved into the Deupree House owned by the Episcopal Retirement Services in 1992 and because of his longevity he was referred to by many as "the mayor of Deupree". He made so many friends there and his quick wit and humor made him a favorite. He has two proclamations given to him by the City of Cincinnati, one upon his retirement and the most recent by The Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati for his efforts on their behalf.
Chet was a long-time member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Hyde Park and served on numerous boards including past senior Warden. He was very active in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio and Served as the Past President of the Trustees for over fifty years.
He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII as a radio operator and prided himself at still remembering Morse code. He was a CPA and partner in the firm KPMG until he retired in 1981. He then became vice president of Antonio Palazzolo Company until the early nineties. He was very involved in the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati and handled their bookkeeping until his death. He had arranged for his body to be donated to the Medical School at the University of Cincinnati and plans for a memorial service are pending at this time. Donations can be made to the Episcopal Retirement Services, 3870 Virginia Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45227 or The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 2944 Erie Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45208.
