In Loving Memory of Claude Ellis Jr.
Claude Ellis Jr., of Mason, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. His life was defined by faith, service, hard work, and an unwavering love for those he held dear.
Claude proudly served his country in the United States Army, carrying with him the values of honor, dedication, and integrity throughout his life. After his military service, he devoted many years to his career as an electrician, where his strong work ethic and skilled hands earned the respect of those around him.
Above all else, Claude was a devoted family man. He was the loving father of Duane Ellis and Claude Ellis III, and a proud grandfather to Chris Auburn, Brittany Ellis, Bridget Sohngen, Makeena Ellis, and Madyson King. He was also blessed to be a great-grandfather to Adalynn Somoen and _____. Nothing brought Claude greater joy than watching his family grow and creating lasting memories with each generation.
Claude was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Louise Ellis; his beloved son, Troy Ellis; and his cherished siblings, Amon Ellis, Clara (John) Matthews, Sonya "Crickett" Byrd, Mona Ross, Loma Ferguson, Odie Fred Ellis, Willey "Shortie" Ellis, and Gregory Ellis. While their passing left an emptiness in his heart, there is comfort in knowing they are now reunited in eternal peace.
Claude found happiness in the simple things in life. He loved working with his hands, whether repairing and restoring his cars or creating one-of-a-kind handcrafted wood pieces that reflected his creativity and craftsmanship. At the end of a long day, he enjoyed relaxing with a crisp, cold Miller beer, sharing stories, laughter, and time with those he loved.
A man of deep and steadfast faith, Claude loved God with all his heart. His faith guided the way he lived, the way he loved, and the example he set for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, humility, and unconditional love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Though Claude's presence will be deeply missed, his memory will forever be treasured. His family finds comfort in knowing that his journey on earth has ended and that he is now at peace, reunited with those who went before him and resting in the presence of the Lord.
