Douglas Gordon Cowan

Douglas Gordon Cowan, born on November 19, 1934, in Saskatchewan, Canada, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025. He was a remarkable individual who made significant contributions to both his professional and personal circles.

A graduate of the University of Alberta in Canada, Doug earned his degree in Chemical Engineering in 1956. Following his education, he embarked on a distinguished career, dedicating 25 years to P&G. His commitment, skill, and leadership were evident as he ascended through the ranks at Drackett Company, ultimately becoming President. He continued to leave his mark in the industry by serving as President of Bristol Meyers, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to excellence throughout his career.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Doug enjoyed a variety of hobbies that enriched his life. He had a passion for curling and fishing. Additionally, he was an avid collector of antique clocks, reflecting his appreciation for craftsmanship and history.

Douglas is survived by his cherished wife, Dorothy Jean, and their two beloved children, daughter Patti Ann More (Brett) and son Robert Gordon Cowan. His family will forever remember him as a loving husband and father who instilled values of hard work, integrity, and the importance of pursuing one's passions.

His legacy will remain etched in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Douglas Gordon Cowan will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends.
