Gene R. Mooney

MOONEY, Gene Reinhart, died peacefully at Maple Knoll Village at age 102 years on October 6, 2025. Son of George Edward and Stella Reinhart Mooney. Beloved father of Cynthia Mooney Miller, Jeffrey Hadley (Susanna DeWitt) Mooney, and Amy Jo Mooney. Survived by dear brother, Earl R. Mooney (Ginny). Preceded in death by wives, Jo Ann Garriott Mooney (1947-1959) and Joan Ricking Mooney (1962-2012); and brothers, Tom and Jack Mooney.

Native of Lockland, Ohio and graduate of Lockland High School and the University of Cincinnati College of Pharmacy. A Naval veteran of WWII stationed at The Oakland Naval Hospital in Oakland, California. Member of the First Presbyterian Church of Glendale for 76 years. Member of the Glendale Lyceum and a member of the unofficial Blue Bird Cafe Breakfast Club in Glendale’s Village Square.

Memorial service to be held at the First Presbyterian Church of Glendale, 155 E. Fountain Ave., Glendale, OH 45246 on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11AM.
