Loving grandmother of Gaehl (Kasia) Hutchinson, Alyson (Yazan) Abu-Adiyeh, Nathan (Amber) Hutchinson, and Irene (Alex Landrum) Hutchinson. Great-grandmother of August, Liliana, Aliya and Amina. Dear sister of Gerald Sanders; and the late Harold Sanders and Jimmie Crescente.
Helen passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, November 19th, 2022, surrounded by family, at the age of 98. Born on October 6, 1924, Helen lived to see nearly a century of change: automobiles, wars, and technology advances, to name a few. Helen grew up in South Carolina and was set up on a blind date with Charles Hutchinson. After the war, they were married on November 5,1946 and moved to Cincinnati. They would go on to raise two boys, Charlie and Lee, and watch their family grow from there. Their love was strong and lived on in Helen until the day she passed.
Helen was a compassionate, kind, generous, and selfless woman who devoted her life to the people around her. She left a mark on everyone she met. She was the center of our family and and can never be replaced. Holidays and get-togethers will never be the same.
Helen loved spending time in her kitchen and left behind her recipes for her infamous strawberry Jell-O, wheat rolls, and cheesecake. She was very involved in her church community, as well as other community services. Forest Chapel brought her much joy, fulfillment in life, and lifelong friendships.
Helen was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a contagious smile and laugh, a fearless spirit, and a wonderful sense of humor, filled with quick one-liners. For those who had the pleasure to know her, the many memories she left behind will always be cherished. She will be deeply missed, but forever in our hearts.
Memorial service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Forest Chapel UMC, 680 W. Sharon Rd., Forest Park, OH 45240. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Forest Chapel, or to charities of your choice.
