Joseph Paul Mangiafico

Jul 31, 1937 — Jul 17, 2026

Mason

Joseph Paul “Joe” Mangiafico Sr, of Mason, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family.

Joe was a devoted husband to Bonita “Bonnie” (née Miller), with whom he shared 48 years of marriage. He was a loving father to his sons, Joseph “Joey” (Leeanna) Mangiafico Jr and James “Jimmy” Mangiafico, and a proud grandfather to Lydia Mangiafico.

Born in Connecticut to Sicilian-Italian immigrants, Joe was proud of his Italian roots and equally proud to be an American.

With a cigar often in hand, Joe had a presence that was unmistakably his own. He was known for being a bit gruff and never afraid to tell it like it was, but he also had a kind heart. He had an incredible sense of humor and loved making people laugh. His quick wit and playful personality created memories that his family and friends will always cherish.

Joe also had a lifelong love for animals. From his beloved dogs Buster and Frannie to the many cats, animals were always a big part of his life.

He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether golfing, attending outdoor concerts, or riding motorcycles in his younger years. He also loved bowling and any activity that gave him the opportunity to spend time with family and friends.

Joe's career as a truck driver began in Connecticut before moving to Cincinnati and joining Roadway Trucking, where he worked for more than 30 years. Over the course of his career, he traveled throughout the country, built lifelong friendships, and collected countless stories from the road that his family still shares today. His love of driving never left him, and he continued to enjoy being behind the wheel of his own vehicle as much as he could. Above all, he treasured his family and always found his way back to the people he loved most.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joe's honor to SPCA Cincinnati on Conrey Road.
