Cincinnati – Joseph Alfred Westendorf, Jr., 93, passed away on October 28, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Mary Jane (nee Ullrich) Westendorf and the late Patricia Mae (nee Robinson) Westendorf. Loving father of Tom (Laura) Westendorf, Greg (Kim) Westendorf, Bob (Joey) Westendorf, and devoted stepfather to Jane Marie (Jim) Uthe, Michael (Cathy) McHugh, Patrick (Susan) McHugh, Kitty (Todd) Williams, Madeline (Steve) Vandegriff, Jean (Martin) Sutton and Claudia (Chris) Norris, and the late Thomas (Diane) McHugh. Dear brother of Alice Sicking, Florence Rischar, and the late Lorraine Mages, Ralph Westendorf, and Louis Westendorf. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, Sr., and Agnes (nee Dellerman) Westendorf. Adoring grandfather to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Joe was known by many in the Wyoming and Lockland areas where the Westendorf family operated grocery stores for generations. He was a lifelong resident and devoted citizen of the city of Wyoming, growing up and residing near the corner where he and his family have been business owners for over a century. He was awarded Wyoming Citizen of the Year in 1995 for his service and involvement with his community, and he will be remembered fondly by many who have worked with him, lived near him, or were helped by him.

Visitation will be held at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pk., Springdale, OH 45246 on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 6-8 PM.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James of the Valley Catholic Church, 411 Springfield Pk., Wyoming, OH 45215 on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 11 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, St. Bernard, OH.
