Kathleen Marie Schroeder, 66, of Norwood, passed away on Monday, August 10.u

Kathy, daughter of the late Dick & Mary Schroeder; sister of Patty (Larry) Fanning, Ann Schroeder, and the late Margie McAdow; aunt of Emma McAdow, Joe Fanning, Molly (Vinny) Belcamino, Sally Fanning, Gabe McAdow, Grant McAdow, and Ben Fanning. Niece of John (Lynn) Cook.

Kathy retired from Hamilton County Developmental Disabilities Services in 2015, where she devoted her career helping adults with developmental disabilities learn new skills, succeed in their jobs, and experience the satisfaction of contributing to their community. In her retirement, Kathy worked at the Norwood Drive Thru, where she continued to enjoy being around others and making a difference in their day.

Kathy had a great love for animals and was especially active in dog rescue, fostering many dogs in need over the years. Her heart made room for animals of all kinds and her compassion for them was unwavering. She often joked that she loved animals more than people.

Kathy will be remembered for her big heart, her love of animals, her independent spirit, and her ability to bring a little brightness into the lives of others.

Friends may visit with the family at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pike, Springdale, OH 45246 on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 10:30 am to 12 noon, with a memorial service at beginning 12:00 pm.
