Lawrence J. Romer

On September 26, 2026, Larry went to the great golf course in the sky to be with the Lord. Born March 3, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Lawrence E. and Mary T. Romer. Graduated from Findlay Senior High in Findlay, Ohio; attended the University of Detroit; and graduated from Xavier University with a BS and MBA. Larry was a US Army Veteran during the Korean conflict and then was employed for 35 years with General Electric where he held various financial positions. Larry was an avid runner and ran his first marathon at age 54. He was enthusiastic about sports - Xavier, Reds, Bengals, and PGA. He was a member of the Elite Senior Golf League for over 25 years; Larry had two holes in one during his lifetime. He was a volunteer for 20 years with the AARP Tax Foundation and Post Commander of Greenhills Post 530 American Legion. 

Preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Kracke Romer; and second wife, Janet Lawlor Romer. He was the dear friend of Margaret Barnard.

Larry and Carol were blessed with five daughters; Kelly (Steve) Kramer, Kathy (Mark) Vilas, Mariann (Brad) Pickrell, Michele (David) Kluener, and Tracy (Mike) Brokesh; along with 15 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Janet had three children; Randy (Denny) Murray, Fredrica (friend Michael) Lawlor, and Tim (Marianne) Lawlor; along with 11 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Larry was the dear brother of Colleen Slager, Michael Romer, and the late Roger and Donald Romer. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pk., Springdale, OH 45246 from 9:30-10:30AM. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 17 Farragut Rd., Greenhills, OH 45218 at 11AM. Burial will follow at St. James Cemetery in White Oak, Ohio. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Chapter at OLR Church, 17 Farragut Road, Cincinnati, OH 45218 or to a charity of choice.
