Marcella Tartar

Marcella McAninch Tartar, beloved wife, mother, "Nana", sister and aunt entered her heavenly home, on July 1st, 2024, at age 88 yrs, from complications associated with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on September 10th, 1935, in Casey County, KY, to W. Ralph McAninch and Ruth Hines McAninch and lived in Mason, OH for the last ten years. Marcella was preceded in death by devoted husband, Theodore Tartar, both longtime members of the Springdale, OH community. They raised their children, Brent (Melissa Trammel) Tartar of Lebanon, OH and Bethany (Corey) Baker of Braselton, GA. She was an active and cherished Nana to 7 grandchildren: Brooke Tartar and Hudson, Reagan (wife Kaitlin), Gavin, Westin, Camden and Blaire Baker. The Tartar's were very active in the Springdale community, and Marcella was a member of Springdale Nazarene Church.

Marcella enjoyed attending any and all sporting events, plays, events, school functions, class parties, graduations etc. involving the children. Her great-grandchild, Blakely Baker, shared her birthdate and brought her immense joy! Marcella is also survived by her sisters: Mary Ellison and Mazie Myers as well cherished family members John Ellison, Gordon Ellison (Elizabeth), Nicole Myers Newman (Tim) and Nick Myers (Rachel). Marcella will be remembered for her attention to detail, overabundance of written notes, ironing everything, family time on her farm and her unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

A celebration of Marcella's life will be held in her honor at Springdale Nazarene Church, 11177 Springfield Pk., Springdale, OH 45246 on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 10AM until time of service at 12Noon. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Agape Hospice Care of NE Georgia, C/o Charles Santa Maria, 106 Colony Park Dr, Ste 600, Cumming, GA 30040 to assist and find resources for indigent patients and patients that are homeless or live in their cars.
