Marcella Jean Topp, age 88, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026. She was born on December 1, 1937, in Webster, Indiana, to Denver and Esther Frame. Marcella grew up as the only girl among her siblings, with five older brothers and one younger brother. Raised on a family farm, she developed a lifelong love of animals that remained a defining part of who she was. She is survived today by two of her brothers, Dean Frame and Victor Frame, who continue to honor her memory.

Marcella graduated from Webster High School in 1955, proudly finishing as one of just five students in her senior class. Her love of learning and her deep faith led her to the Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute, where she earned her Certificate of Service in 1960. She continued her education at Trevecca Nazarene College, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1963.

After completing her studies, Marcella began her career as a school teacher — a calling that brought her great joy. She taught for many years in both Indiana and Ohio, touching countless lives through her patience, kindness, and steady dedication. Her teaching journey included time in the Lakota School District in West Chester, where she made a lasting impact on her students and colleagues.

In 1967, Marcella married Donald Yost, and together they settled in Mason, Ohio, where they built a loving home centered on faith, family, and quiet strength. Marcella was proudest of her family: her daughters Myndi Yost (Terry Durham) and Michelle Brunner (Steve); her granddaughters Delaney Durham (Elias Dresbach), Chelsea Newbould (Derek), Courtney Wills (Bryan), and Cassidy Brunner; and her great‑grandchildren Olivia and Theodore, each of whom brought her immeasurable joy. Her love of family extended far beyond her immediate circle and included too many nieces and nephews to count, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

After retiring from teaching, Marcella continued to share her warmth and dedication through her work in HR administration at Cincinnati Electronics and later at Brookside Extended Care. Her hobbies included Bible studies, quilting, and crocheting, and she lovingly gifted many people with her beautiful afghan creations.

In 2001, Marcella married Heinz “Dutch” Topp, with whom she enjoyed many happy years. She continued her lifelong love of animals by adopting and caring for many dogs and cats who brought her comfort, companionship, and joy.

A woman of deep faith, Marcella’s spirit was illuminated through her dedication to Bible study, evidencing a profound connection to her Lord. She will be greatly missed by her family, who will forever carry her love, her gentleness, and her quiet strength in their hearts.
