Mary Jane Bogart (nee Sanders), 81, passed away on August 15, 2026. She was the beloved wife and best friend of Raymond G. Bogart for 45 wonderful years. She was the loving mother of Erin (Zach) Bowling and Eric (Jill). She was a dear grandmother of Anna and Ella. Mary Jane is survived by her brother Jack (Diana) Sanders. She is also survived by seven nieces and nephews as well as fourteen great-nieces and nephews and seventeen great-great nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on April 6, 1945 to John C. and Crystal R. Sanders, and spent all but two years of her life in Cincinnati – always living within one mile of Montgomery Road. She graduated from Woodward high school and attended the University of Cincinnati, earning a Bachelor’s degree. After graduation, she went to work for Delta Airlines in Corporate Reservations. When she wasn’t re-planning business flights disrupted by blizzards, she made full use of her travel perks to see the world including over 20 trips to Europe. Mary Jane was a lifelong member of Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church, where she co-chaired the spectacular Holiday Bazaar and faithfully served the church’s mission.

Mary Jane had a passion for swimming, and was a regular at Coney Island until its heartbreaking closure. She loved horses and rode them weekly with dear friends doing both jumping and dressage. She was a 60+ year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Pleasant Ridge garden club. She was a frequent volunteer throughout her childrens’ schooling, from helping as a “room mother” in the early years to supporting the marching bands in later years.

Thanksgiving was the most important holiday on Mary Jane’s calendar - her family has gathered for more than a century, and she hosted the celebration for the last fifty of those years. She glowed with love for her family and relished the chance to bring them together. The rest of the year she was cheering on the soccer field, volleyball court, at dance and voice recitals and musical theater performance for her granddaughter Anna.

Mary Jane was a kind and generous person who was fiercely loyal and committed to what and who she loved. She was proudly independent and always looking for ways to help others. She was a quiet force for good in the world and will be missed.
