Michael Harry Blackburn, 80, a beloved resident of Glendale, Ohio for 45 years, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026.
Born May 14, 1946, he was the son of Wallace Blackburn and Loraine (Waechter) Blackburn. A graduate of Greenhills High School and Eastern Kentucky University, Michael went on to build a distinguished career as a businessman, serving as Owner and President of Master Terrazzo Technologies.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 55 years, Diane (Fischer) Blackburn, whom he affectionately called “Valentine,” having wed on June 19, 1971; his son Michael (Julie) Blackburn; and his grandchildren Lynna Grace,Michael Harrison, and Wesley Edward Blackburn, who knew him by his favorite name — Papa. He is also survived by his brothers Kenneth (Brenda) and Darryl (Nanci) Blackburn, and his brother-in-law Hal Fischer.
A proud Navy veteran whose service to his country ultimately claimed a lasting toll, Michael faced Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia with characteristic courage and grace for more than 20 years. He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church of Glendale and a follower of Christ.
Those who knew Michael knew his winsome sense of humor, his genuine love of family, friends, and neighbors, and his passion for golf and travel shared with the people he cherished most.
Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church of Glendale, 155 E. Fountain Avenue, Glendale, OH 45246. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, 11200 Princeton Pike, Cincinnati, OH 45246. A reception will follow.
