Patricia "Pat" Ann Popplewell

Patricia Ann “Pat” Popplewell, 79, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on March 11, 2023. Pat was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Thomas and Vivian (Bradley) Whitaker on July 26, 1943. She married the love of her life David Hugh Popplewell on July 3, 1964, at Landmark Baptist Church in Cincinnati. After attending Wilmington College Pat began her career at The Ford Motor Company, where she spent her entire 40-year career in various roles within Human Resources at the Sharonville Transmission Plant. Pat was a wonderful, extremely kind, and intelligent person who was a devoted wife and mother. She dedicated her life to making everyone else’s life better. She loved watching her grandchildren, cooking, keeping a spotless home and working at Ford, where she made many long-lasting friendships. Patricia is preceded in death by her loving husband, David Hugh Popplewell; father, Thomas B. Whitaker; mother, Vivian (Bradley) Whitaker; father-in-law, Chester Hugh Popplewell; mother-in-law, Tabitha Dorcas (Fields) Popplewell; brother, Robert Eugene Whitaker; sister-in-law, Loretta (Popplewell) Barrow, and brother-in-law, David Noble. She is survived by her son, Thomas Hugh Popplewell and his wife, Camille Sue (Bradley) Popplewell; daughter, Kathleen Elaine Muha and her husband, David James Muha; brother, James Leroy Whitaker; sisters-in-law, Joan (Jackopin) Whitaker, Mary (Floyd) Whitaker, Wilma (Popplewell) Noble, and adoring grandchildren, Bradley Thomas Popplewell, Samuel Tate Popplewell, William Douglas Heffner, Faith Elle Heffner, and Emma Davi Muha.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Patricia’s memory to the UC Health Liver Transplant Program.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to her long-time wonderful caregiver, Janet Thompson, the staff at Traditions of Lebanon, Dr. Shimul Shah, Dr. Suresh Kamath, Dr. Tehmina Naz, Amy Whitton, NP, and the staff of Affinity Care of Ohio.  

A celebration of life will begin with a time of visitation at 3pm followed by a service at 4pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Landmark Church, located at 1600 Glendale-Milford Road, Evendale, OH 45215.
