Phyllis Askren

Phyllis Askren, born March 11, 1957 in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, to Glenna Debord and the late Lindburgh Debord, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 4, 2024.  Loving wife of Brad Askren, loving mother of Michael Phelps, Timothy Phelps, Jesse (Colleen) Askren, and Jacob (Jennifer Dixon) Askren, adored grandmother of Damien Phelps, Caleb Askren, and Noah Askren, dear sister of Patricia (Mike) Wahl, Stan (Annette) Debord, Steve (Pam) Debord, beloved aunt of numerous nieces and nephews, adopted mom to many, and faithful church family member to everyone at her church.  Phyllis was a pillar of faith for her family and those around her.  Prayer came from her heart, and she was a warm presence to so many.  Her faith extended to loyally watching March Madness every year, and her favorite thing to do was root for the underdog.  She will be deeply missed by many.  The family of Phyllis will be receiving friends and family for a visitation at Vorhis and Ryan Funeral Home – Springdale (11365 Springdale Pike, Springdale, OH 45246) on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.  A funeral service will take place the following day, January 11, 2024, also at Vorhis and Ryan Funeral Home – Springdale, beginning at 11:00 AM.   A procession and graveside service will follow at Landmark Cemetery.
