Rachel ( Raquel) Shleypher (Schleifer), 98 of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026, in Mason, Ohio surrounded by her children. Rachel was born on April 17, 1928, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Rachel is survived by her children Elena Ashe and Max Burkhart. Rachel was blessed to be a grandmother to: Tim Ashe, Tamilla Cordeiro, Elia Burkhart, Elizabeth Burkhart, Tom Ashe, as well as a great-grandmother to Dominic and Leila Cordeiro. Rachel was an aunt to Anna Dorane.

Rachel was preceded in death by her loving parents Bencion and Eugenia (nee Yasky) Schleifer. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Alba and Liber and her niece Irina Vasilieva.

Rachel lived in four countries: Argentina, USSR, Israel, and since 2005 resided in Cincinnati, Ohio, in The United States of America. When Rachel moved to Ohio she became part of the life of the local Jewish Community. Rachel was very actively involved in the Russian speaking club at JCC. She was a life-long student and fluent in five languages: Spanish, Russian, French, Hebrew, and English. Rachel was a professor of the Spanish language and translator of literature works including novels and funny stories bringing out her own sense of humor. Rachel also loved to dance; no matter how old she was there was always time to dance and enjoy the music. She also loved reading many different novels.

Rachel’s smile, sense of humor, and love for culture such as dancing will forever be etched in the hearts of everyone who knew her. Her love for life will always be remembered by her children.
