Roberta Simpson Slusher, 91, went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, May 26, 2025.
She was born in Cardinal, Kentucky to French and Ruby Simpson on April 6, 1934. They preceded her in death along with her sister, Doris Howard. She has three remaining sisters: Loretta Stewart, Audrey Bailey, and Mary “Crickett” Simpson. Roberta was the oldest of the 5 sisters.
Roberta and her husband, Jack Slusher, were married July 3, 1951 and shared 46 years of marriage before he preceded her in death in 1997. Their three children and their families survive them: Mike and Lianne Slusher of Hamilton, Ohio; Karen Meyer of Lynchburg, Virginia and her children— Kathy (Pete) Sudlow and David (Emily) Meyer; Mark and Kathie Slusher of Houston, Texas and their children Kaitlyn and Austin. She also leaves behind six great grandchildren: Stephen, Emma, and Eleanor Sudlow; Patrick, Judson, and Shepherd Meyer.
She was a 1951 graduate of Black Star High School in Alva, Kentucky. While she was raising her own children, she also blessed many other children as a school bus driver for Princeton City Schools in Sharonville, Ohio. She then went on to be a successful realtor until her retirement.
She loved to read, was a talented artist, was a dedicated American citizen committed to Christian values, and was a student of God’s Word.
She faithfully raised her children in their church, seeking to point them each to Jesus, doing the same with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her greatest joy in life was her family and deepest hope was to meet each one of them in Heaven again one day, believing what Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me.” (John 14:6)
