Scott F. Holthaus

HOLTHAUS, Scott F.  Beloved son born to Richard and Jean Holthaus on November 25, 1959. Father of Sarah Holthaus and Ben Holthaus. Grandfather of Aubriana Bolin and Raylynn Haste. Siblings include Kirk (Stacey) Holthaus, Jill (Roger) Krebs, Randy (Denise) Holthaus, and Dean (Megan) Holthaus. Longtime partner of Sylvia England. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Richard Holthaus, and his son, Scott (Scotty) F. Holthaus II. 

Scott attended Forest Park High School from 1974-1978. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy and was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. During that time, he was deployed to the Persian Gulf on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier. Scott was born and raised in Cincinnati where he was currently living. He loved being a resident of Cincinnati and was a big fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds and the “Big Red Machine” in the 1970s. At a very young age, Scott displayed an impressive talent for art and later attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati. His creativity was also reflected in various poems he wrote. As a kid, Scott was known for clowning around and his sense of humor continued into his adult life. You could count on his quick wit and comedic character to make you laugh with his one-liners. 

Scott passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at the age of 66. 

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 11365 Springfield Pike, OH 45246 from 10 am – 12 noon.
