Suzanne Leicht Baumann of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully at the age of 77 on February 5, 2026. Born on August 22, 1948, Sue was the daughter of Jack and Margaret (Dieckmann) Leicht and grew up in Deer Park as one of six children. She attended St. John the Evangelist grade school and was a proud 1966 graduate of Regina High School.
In 1970, Sue married the late John Klei, and welcomed three daughters: Kristyn, Karen, and Katie. In June 1989, she married Ralph Baumann, and together they embraced the beautiful chaos of blending their six children into one family.
It was clear to all who knew her that Sue was put on this earth to be a mother and, eventually, a grandmother. During her daughters’ younger years living in Springdale, she was a constant support in their lives serving as PTA president, Brownie and Girl Scout leader, and president of various swim teams. She had an open-door policy for her daughters’ friends, many of whom saw Sue as their "second mom". Whether she was hosting a house full of teenagers, providing rides to events, or offering a comforting word, Sue’s heart and home was always open.
In addition to raising her daughters, she had a successful professional life. Sue owned a cookie and candy shop, was a marketing consultant and managed retail stores before becoming a licensed real estate agent. She spent most of her real estate career with Sibcy Cline, where she adored those she worked with—many of whom became repeat clients and dear friends.
While she took pride and found fulfillment in her career, nothing brought her more joy than being a grandmother, affectionately known as "Maw". She was a selfless pillar of support, hosting countless sleepovers and caring for her grandchildren as her daughters built their own careers. She rarely missed a sporting event, school play, recital, or concert. While she loved to spoil her grandkids with gifts, her greatest offering was the unlimited, unconditional love they felt every time they were with her.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her cherished husband, Ralph Baumann; her friend and former husband, John Klei; and her sister, Jackie (Leicht) Field. Her legacy of love lives on through her daughters, Kristyn Klei (Noah Borrero), Karen Klei Schlosser (Joe), and Katie Klei; her beloved stepchildren, Cynthia Zindle, Sherry Baumann, and Eric (Rebecca) Baumann; and her adored grandchildren, Evan Schlosser, John Schlosser, Caroline Klei, Morgan Zindle, and Connor Sullivan. She also leaves behind her siblings, Kathie Obermeyer Plapp, Linda Borgman, Jim Leicht, and Peggy Waldman, along with an extensive extended family of cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren and many lifelong friends
