Virginia Faye Akers, 89, of Summerfield, Florida, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 16th, 2017.
Faye was born on January 7th, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio to parents Harkes and Rebecca Johnson and she was the eldest of their three daughters. She grew up in the Cincinnati area, attending Lockland High School. She met and married Jim Akers in 1950. They moved to the Ft. Lauderdale, (Plantation) Florida area in 1963.
Faye is survived by her three daughters, Sheila Lustig (Lou), Hackensack, NJ, Becky Caparco (Michael), Coral Springs, FL and Jamie Stone (Allan), Murfreesboro, TN. Her grandchildren include Kimberly Spanedda (Alex), Jordan Lustig (Christine), Rachel Mckeon (Tom), Rebecca Caparco, Jonathan Caparco, Brittany Stone, Christopher Stone and Patrick Stone. Great-grandchildren Joseph Mckeon and Cooper Lustig. Sisters Iva Gillis and Leah Trammel (Tom) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harkes and Rebecca Johnson and her husband of 51 years, James Akers.
