Wayne Robert Burnett

Wayne Robert Burnett, 75, of Norwood, Ohio, died peacefully on the evening of Wednesday, May 28, 2025. Wayne was a devoted husband of 52 years to the late Mary Jean Burnett; father of Nicholas (Beth) Burnett, Elizabeth (Kelly Swope) Burnett, and Abbigail (Conner Elijah) Stratman. Grandfather of Gracie and Lexii. Great grandfather of Salem.

Born September 6, 1949, to Virginia and Fred Burnett, he lived in his beloved hometown of Norwood his whole life. He worked in the Norwood City School District for over 35 years as a custodian, and for 15 years, he drove buses for Deer Park School District.

Wayne's love, sense of humor, and generosity will live on. Whenever he said goodbye to his family, he always said, “love ya a bunch.” He laughed at his own “dad jokes”, enjoyed teaching others how to fix things, gardening, and loved his family dogs (especially Mac the Boxer).

Friends may visit with the family for a Celebration of Wayne’s life at Vorhis & Ryan Funeral Home, 5501 Montgomery Rd., Norwood, OH 45212 on Saturday, June 28th from 11AM until time of service at 1PM.
