A. Richard (Dick) Thomas. Born in Omaha, NE on January 19,1921. He passed away on December 20, 2020. Resident of Cincinnati (Wyoming), OH since 1948. Preceded in death by his wife, Chevalette Fenton Thomas in 2008. Loving father of Vance (Diane) Thomas of Batesville, IN and Julia Thomas of Atlanta, GA. Loving grandfather of Adam (Rachael) Thomas, Drew (Erin) Thomas and Katie (Tyler) Griggs.
Dick attended Duke University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1943; and Columbia University where he earned a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering in 1948. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve from 1943-1946, serving as Ordnance Officer for Administrative Command and Amphibious Forces in Pearl Harbor and Guam. From 1948-1983, Dick worked for Procter & Gamble where he handled management assignments in product development for household and beauty care products, the special products group leading to P&G's entry into pharmaceuticals, and international government relations for pharmaceutical products. He was active in his community, generously donating his time and resources, especially after his retirement in 1983. He was an active member of Ascension & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Wyoming, OH for over 60 years. As a member of The Cincinnati Art Club for over 30 years, he served on the Club's board and various committees; in addition to his paintings being regularly shown in local and area art shows and represented in both corporate and private collections. Dick was a long-time volunteer and supporter of the Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired (CABVI) since 1996 and received the CABVI Barney H. Kroger Humanitarian Award in 2020. He was recognized as one of Wyoming's Citizens of the Year in1992. Dick was also a volunteer driver for 13 years for the Cincinnati chapter of the American Red Cross; a member and officer of the Board of Trustees for former St. Edmund's Conference Center in Glendale for over 10 years; a member and Chair of the Advisory Board for Retired & Senior Volunteer Programs (RSVP), a unit of Cincinnati Senior Services for 8 years; and active in Executive Service Corps, with retirees offering consulting services to Cincinnati non-profits for over 5 years.

Private services will be held due to the current pandemic.
Memorial donations may be made to Ascension & Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Wyoming, OH or the Cincinnati Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI).

A. Richard "Dick" was loved by family and many friends for his kindness, generosity, patience and respect. He truly lived by the creed of treating others as you would like to be treated and putting others before himself.
