Chet and Joy moved into the Deupree House owned by the Episcopal Retirement Services in 1992 and because of his longevity he was referred to by many as "the mayor of Deupree". He made so many friends there and his quick wit and humor made him a favorite. He has two proclamations given to him by the City of Cincinnati, one upon his retirement and the most recent by The Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati for his efforts on their behalf.
Chet was a long-time member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Hyde Park and served on numerous boards including past senior Warden. He was very active in the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio and Served as the Past President of the Trustees for over fifty years.
He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII as a radio operator and prided himself at still remembering Morse code. He was a CPA and partner in the firm KPMG until he retired in 1981. He then became vice president of Antonio Palazzolo Company until the early nineties. He was very involved in the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati and handled their bookkeeping until his death. He had arranged for his body to be donated to the Medical School at the University of Cincinnati and plans for a memorial service are pending at this time.
