Eliose Manhart

March 28, 1926 — July 18, 2020

Eloise F. Dunn Manhart passed away on July 18, 2020 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She was born 28 March 1926, the daughter of Frederick C. Dunn and Mary F. Meyers (Dunn), and in 1947 married Lauren E. Manhart who died in 2001.  She is survived by their children: Anita M. Manhart (Theodore McConnell), Michael D. Manhart (Karen Barone), and Emily F. Manhart (Merle Fristad), and 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.  Eloise grew up in Lima, Ohio, a member of Central Church of Christ, and a graduate of Lima Central High School. She then graduated from Bowling Green State University, 1948, with a degree in Business Administration.  While at BGSU she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority.  She worked as a banker, taught school, and later developed a private couture sewing business in Michigan and Ohio.  As part of a faculty couple with Lauren at Cranbrook School in Bloomfield Hills, MI, she used her sewing skills to enrich the school’s annual Christmas pageant and other theatre productions.  She and Lauren were great music lovers and together they loved touring to see Jazz groups play classic pieces.  In retirement they both volunteered at the Maple Knoll Retirement Center’s radio station. A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the pandemic restrictions.
