James Alan Ramsey

Husband and partner in life’s adventures of the late Bette Marie Ramsey for 64 years joined his beautiful bride on April 24th, 2022. He was a father extraordinaire to Geoffrey (Jackie), William (Christine), Lyndon (Thomas) and Penny (John);Grandfather of Elizabeth (Nathan), Oliver, Joanna and Jessicaand very dear friend to Nancy McCue. He was much loved by many nieces, nephews, and friends.  He started a lifelong career with Proctor and Gamble at the age of 20 in Toronto, Canada and traveled all over the world. He was the consummate Barbershop Chorus and Quartet member - Member of the Society for 61 years in the 3 different countries!  The Southern Gateway Chorus was family to Bette and Jim and fulfilled a dream when they won the International Chorus contest in 1992.  Countless close friendships grew from Jim and Bette’s endeavors with Southern Gateway. Many thanks to the staff at Maple Knoll Village and most recently Queen City Hospice who loved and cared for him over the past few years.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life at a Memorial Service at The Chapel at Maple Knoll Village on April 30th, 2022 at 11 AM.

Interment is planned for May 27, 2022 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto.
