Steven “Coach” “Bebop” Parker Van Vliet, 77, of Maineville, OH, passed away comfortably and peacefully at Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash Tuesday, June 28, 2022.
Steve was born March 10, 1945, to George and Barbara (Nichoalds) Van Vliet in Detroit, Michigan. Steve was the younger brother of Cece (Padget) and Margie (Silvestri).
Steve graduated with a B.S. in Education from Bowling Green State University and went on to teach for 30 years in the Mount Healthy School system. He coached both football and wrestling. He enjoyed his model trains, UC football, biking, camping, fishing, traveling, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
Steven is survived by his 2 sons, Jim (Tracey) Van Vliet of Liberty Township, and Mark (Barbi) Van Vliet of Mansfield, 4 grandchildren, Steven, Daniel, Samuel, and Sydney, 3 great grandchildren, Christopher, Elizabeth, and Benjamin, 4 nephews, Mike, Steve, Jeff, and Ken, and 1 niece Laura.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents, and his 2 sisters Cece and Margie.
